One of the longest ‘stages’ in bike racing is almost 3,000 mi. It stretches from the hinterlands of the Canadian Rockies all the way to the badlands of the Mexican Plateau.

Adventure cycling races are a little-known corner of the cycling world. Perhaps more aptly called “bike packing”, adventure bikes races are for the ones who are drawn to discovering what’s beyond their local, well-trodden single track. The ones whose imaginations begin where the pavement ends. For whom getting into committing situations in rugged wilderness is… appealing. In a world where it seems everything has been discovered, sometimes it’s the mode of exploration that makes the journey unique. For some, when adventure calls, the bike answers.
